The Chiayi Dongshi Project serves as a premier demonstration site for Fishery-Solar symbiosis. Spanning 1.7 hectares, this indoor facility has a projected installed capacity of 2MW.
This demonstration site will integrate two major high-tech aquaculture systems: Indoor Recirculating Aquaculture Systems (RAS) and Three-Stage Structured Farming. These systems are designed to mitigate environmental variability and reduce losses from climate-related risks. Furthermore, through planned production, the project aims to increase breeding efficiency and minimize the idle costs of space.
Under the multi-functional land use model, the site is estimated to produce over 30,000 kg (50,000 catties) of seawater white shrimp and 30,000 kg (50,000 catties) of grouper annually, while generating more than 2,400,000 kWh of electricity per year.
